Alumni Match

The Aggies played the annual alumni match on Saturday.  There was a great turnout by the alumni, who came out on top in the match and provided the younger Aggies with a demonstration into the finer arts of the breakdown throughout the game.   There were a number of prominent Old Maroon present for the game, and it is always great for current Aggie players to connect with alumni in order to keep traditions alive and maintain bonds.  In addition, the Old Maroon were assisted by the incomparable Justin Boyd, a USA Men's 7s and 15s star, who currently plays for Frisco.  Boyd managed a couple of exciting tries for the fans during the match and looks to be fully recovered from his knee injury.

The Aggies fielded a young and relatively inexperienced side for the match.  "We felt that the alumni match was a great opportunity for our younger guys to see some experienced opposition who we knew would be hard physically," said head coach Brett Mills.  A number of these players had standout games.  Tighthead Francisco Brito was brilliant throughout the day and looks to have earned himself a starting position with the varsity team.  Andrew McMath, Matt Theodore, Danny Amsler, Andrew Stanley, Dylan Starks, and Matt Krath all played impressively during their stints on the field.
